Moving pen and paper into the digital age
Chatpen™ works via a mobile phone to let you communicate both digitally and on paper – simultaneously. Since writing with Chatpen™ is at once physical and digital, there is no longer a need for re-entering scribbled notes into a computer. Perhaps more appealing is the fact that you are no longer restricted to text-based SMS or e-mail, but are able to send hand-written notes with Chatpen™ to anyone with a mobile phone, PC or PDA. Everything from sketches to graphical e-mails can be transmitted instantly, adding a more personal dimension to messaging and simplifying the process of sending text in languages that do not use the Roman alphabet.

A simple idea, powered by technology
Though the Chatpen™ looks and writes like a normal pen, it houses a sophisticated array of technology that includes an infrared camera, an image processor and a wireless Bluetooth™ transceiver. These components work together with the proprietary Anoto™ pattern, a series of nearly invisible dots printed on ordinary paper, to make pen and paper a medium for interacting with mobile phones, computers and the Internet.
